I’m a registered nutritionist, functional medicine practitioner and hormone health expert.
I am passionate about demystifying the nutrition noise for people, helping you to understand that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach; that similar symptoms can have different root causes amongst us, and how personalised nutrition can help address this.
Welcome to the world of personalised nutrition and lifestyle medicine. As a dedicated nutritionist and functional medicine practitioner, my journey began with a profound realisation about how much support and attention women truly deserve. Particularly in those big life transitions; puberty, fertility, pregnancy, motherhood, peri-menopause, menopause; often wading through these whilst building and managing a career, or being the family caretaker.
Research underscores the critical role of nutrition in these various phases, from pre-conception to everyday well-being. Yet, the demands of life can often leave us depleted, impacting our mental and physical health.
Symptoms such as low mood, exhaustion, low libido, period problems, fertility struggles, digestive issues, sleep issues, hair loss, acne, and weight issues can persist if left unaddressed. Unfortunately, these signs are sometimes dismissed as inevitable aspects of life and “being a women”. Perhaps you’ve been told all results are “normal”, or only offered medication as a resolution which at best can provide a temporary solution but unfortunately doesn’t truly resolved the underlying drivers and root causes.
Amidst these challenges, there's an opportunity for investigating root causes, nurturing and replenishment; and that's where my mission comes into play.
I promise, this doesn’t need to be difficult or an impossible overhaul to your busy life. Simple, targeted changes can make big differences. I am a total foodie, and it has always played a huge part in my personal and working life. In fact, in my previous career I spent years travelling the world developing chocolate and desserts for a global retailer. This ‘working diet’ and corporate city-life soon took a toll on my wellbeing and played havoc with my hormones; igniting my passion and need to restore and nurture balance in my body, and learn even more about nutrition.
I focused my MSc research on the impact of chronic stress on the brain, focusing on the effect personalised nutrition can have to alleviate anxiety and improve mental wellbeing.
